This project was a music video for a local musician. Although the project ultimately didn't come to fruition for various reasons, it still represents a significant amount of work and creativity. The video was envisioned in the "claymation" stop-motion style, presenting numerous design challenges. To capture this unique aesthetic, many procedural animation tools were developed. These tools are evident in the flowing water, swaying trees, and the texture of the clay. A considerable amount of effort went into designing the animation workflow to mimic the rough, tactile movements of claymation. The forest scenes utilized a custom procedural setup for the scattering and design of trees and the mountain textures. This setup allowed for adjustments based on the type of shot and the overall demand of the scene, particularly when the forest was depicted from a distance.
There was a significant focus on character design. Olga, Yeti hunter, is characterized by an angular face, a no-nonsense expression, broad shoulders, large hands, and hard surfaces, emphasizing her tough and determined nature. In contrast, "DAD," an acronym for Dorky Ass Dude, has soft, round features, small arms, and gentle textures, conveying his bumbling nature and the sense that he's out of his element. The Yeti, despite having large, powerful arms and a strong stature, is given soft features to communicate her kindness and that she is misunderstood.
